Cases

The largest publicly reported Kinesis cases, from a withdrawal of about €1 million to a gold redemption that could not be delivered, and what third-party commentary says about Kinesis audits.

Our own cases are not the only ones. Customers have described Kinesis withdrawal and redemption problems on forums, review sites and blogs, and one third-party author has published a long series of analyses about Kinesis audits and tokens. This page summarises the most prominent public sources, with dates and links, so you can read them yourself. Everything below is reported by the named source. This site has not verified it.

The €1 million Kinesis withdrawal reported on The Silver Forum

The largest single case we found was posted on The Silver Forum, a UK precious metals community. According to the thread title, a member reports that Kinesis is holding a fiat withdrawal of about €1,055,000. The member says the money came from selling precious metals on the platform, and that an assurance given by company management was not kept.

We could not open the thread itself to check later updates, for example whether the money has since been paid. If you are following this case, read the original thread for the current status. The size of the amount matters for one reason: it shows that the delays are not limited to small retail accounts.

A Kinesis gold redemption in Toronto that could not be delivered

In an article from October 2026, writer Tyler Pelletier describes a Trustpilot review by a long-time Kinesis customer who held more than $100,000 on the platform. The customer asked to redeem a single 100 g gold bar in Toronto. According to the review, the Toronto hub had no stock. Kinesis offered to ship the bar from New York for a fee starting at about $420, which would have added customs and cross-border risk. The article does not report how the case ended.

The same article cites a customer who waited about ten days for a $14,000 wire, and support screenshots of Bitcoin transfers that looked confirmed but did not leave the platform for hours. According to the article, Kinesis said a temporary suspension of withdrawals on its exchange was a precaution against critical security vulnerabilities in PHP, that withdrawals were fully restored, and that this was separate from earlier payment problems. We have not seen the original Kinesis statement. In replies on Trustpilot, Kinesis describes the pause as a temporary technical issue.

Crypto Informer’s commentary on Kinesis audits and tokens

Crypto Informer is an independent Substack author who has analysed Kinesis since 2022, mostly using public blockchain data, audit documents and company statements. The main articles are listed below in date order. The conclusions are the author’s own.

  • December 2022, incomplete audits and little transparency: the author argues that KAU and KAG offer less public data on supply and holders than other gold tokens, and that the audits released up to then were physical inspections rather than financial audits.

  • February 2023, first complete gold and silver audit: the author reviews a January 2023 audit and questions vault locations, differences between summary totals and itemised figures, missing attachments and the absence of fineness testing.

  • June 2025, KAU circulation and the April 2025 audit: the author compares the April 2025 audit with KAU circulation figures from the Kinesis exchange and block explorer, finds large differences, and concludes that the figures do not match. This is the author’s interpretation.

  • September 2025, the USD1/C1USD token: the author questions a Kinesis dollar token with about $12 billion reported in circulation, citing very few on-chain transactions and holders, and a delayed attestation.

  • September 2025, further articles: on Kinesis Velocity Tokens (KVT) and on the company structure behind the platform.

These articles are research and opinion, not court findings. Kinesis has not, to our knowledge, published a point-by-point response. If Kinesis sends one, we will publish it here.

How the known Kinesis cases compare with ours

The public reports and our two documented cases describe the same pattern: fiat withdrawals pending for weeks, physical redemptions without delivery, and support that does not give a processing date. The amounts range from a few thousand dollars to about €1 million. Our cases add one detail that public reports rarely include: a dated record of every formal step, from complaint and dispute notice to the regulator.
