What’s known about Kinesis, and what isn’t
Last updated: 6 November 2026.
Kinesis customers want to know one thing: what is going on? This page collects what is publicly known about Kinesis, how the company communicates, and the long list of what nobody outside the company can answer today. Individual cases are documented separately on the Cases page.
What is known about Kinesis
The company
Cayman Islands: the Kinesis terms give a registered office in Grand Cayman, care of a corporate services provider. This is a registered address; it does not show where Kinesis operates. The financial regulator in Cayman is the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA). This site has not verified whether Kinesis is registered with CIMA, or for which activities.
Leadership: Kinesis lists Thomas Coughlin as its Chief Executive Officer. A City A.M. interview describes him as CEO of both Kinesis and ABX (Allocated Bullion Exchange).
ABX: Kinesis calls ABX a strategic partner and says ABX formed the Kinesis platform. ABX is also the client of the Bureau Veritas audits (see below).
Media: Kinesis runs the YouTube series Live from the Vault, with Andrew Maguire as featured expert and guests from the precious metals world.
The tokens and the metal
Kinesis’ own claim: 1 KAU represents one gram of gold and 1 KAG one troy ounce of silver, backed one to one by physical metal and redeemable subject to conditions. This is the company’s claim. It does not by itself prove continuous backing or timely delivery.
Redemption terms: minimum 100 g of gold or 200 oz of silver. Fee: 0.45% + US$100 + delivery costs, according to the Kinesis fees page on 6 November 2026.
Vault partners: the audits webpage names Brinks and Loomis Zurich. Other public sources, the Bureau Veritas reports for October 2024 and April 2026, list vaults in several countries, with Malca-Amit and Loomis in Zurich.
The audits
13 audits listed: the Kinesis audit archive lists Bureau Veritas audits of gold and silver for March 2020, November 2020, June 2022, January 2023, April 2023, July 2023, October 2023, January 2024, April 2024, October 2024, April 2025, October 2025 and April 2026. These are archive labels, not necessarily inspection dates.
Audit schedule: Kinesis says audits are carried out twice a year by Bureau Veritas. The latest published report has an audit reference date of 21 April 2026 and is dated 28 May 2026.
What the latest report shows: the April 2026 report is addressed to ABX, not to Kinesis. It names the account “Allocated Bullion Exchange Ltd for Kinesis Cayman”, lists the vault locations, and gives totals of about 2,567 kg of fine gold and 3.69 million troy ounces of fine silver at 21 April 2026. Bureau Veritas weighed a sample of at least 5% and found that custodian records, ABX’s records and the physical holdings reconciled. It is an inspection at set dates, not a full financial audit, and it gives no amounts per vault.
Third-party commentary: Crypto Informer has questioned how the audits match the token supply. These are the author’s conclusions, not verified by this site.
How Kinesis communicates
Reviews on Trustpilot and forum posts describe support replies that confirm receipt and say the relevant team is following up, often without a date.
The audits webpage says redemption is available from the Settings tab of the Kinesis account. It does not say whether redemptions continue while an audit is running.
In replies on Trustpilot to reviews from October 2026, Kinesis said withdrawals and transfers out were briefly paused because of a temporary technical issue, which it said was resolved.
On 6 November 2026, Trustpilot showed 2.3 out of 5 for Kinesis Money, from 762 reviews. The count changes daily.
What is not known about Kinesis
This is the longest list, and the one that matters. Nobody outside Kinesis can answer these questions today.
How much metal is held at each vault location. The audit reports give totals only.
Whether the physical metal covers all KAG and KAU in circulation.
Why fiat withdrawals in EUR and USD are pending, in some cases for weeks.
Why crypto withdrawals such as USDC, ETH, XRP, KAG and KAU are pending all at once.
Which banks hold client money, and whether it is kept separate from company money.
When the October 2026 audit will be finished and published.
Whether redemptions continue while an audit is running.
Why the audits webpage names Brinks and Loomis Zurich, while other public sources name Malca-Amit and Loomis.
How many customers are waiting, and how much money and metal is pending in total.
When withdrawals and redemptions will be processed again, and in which order.
Which Kinesis legal entity customers contract with, and which version of the Terms of Use applies.
What role ABX plays in holding the metal, and how Kinesis and ABX are kept separate.
What backs the C1USD dollar token, and where its reserves are held.
Whether yields on KAG and KAU are still paid normally.
Whether CIMA or any other regulator is looking into the delays.
Whether the large reported cases, such as a withdrawal of about €1 million, have been paid.
Kinesis FAQ
Is Kinesis paying out withdrawals?
Reviews and forum posts describe both: some customers report payments arriving after long delays, others say they are still waiting.
Where is the Kinesis silver stored?
The published Bureau Veritas reports list vaults in several countries, including Malca-Amit and Loomis in Zurich. They give totals only, so how much metal sits in each vault is not public.
Are redemptions paused during audits?
Kinesis has not said so publicly. The audits page does not mention any pause.
Who runs Kinesis?
Kinesis lists Thomas Coughlin as its CEO. A City A.M. interview describes him as CEO of ABX as well. The Kinesis terms give a registered office in the Cayman Islands.
What can I do if my withdrawal is pending?
How can I help?
Report what you know. Every dated data point, a payout received or a new delay, helps other customers understand what is going on. Your details are never published.
Tell us what you know
Do you know something that belongs on this page? A payout that arrived, a redemption that was delivered, an answer from Kinesis, or a new delay? Send it by email. Kinesis is also welcome to send a statement, and it will be published here in full.
