I joined Kinesis because I trusted the message of people like Andrew Maguire and Andy Schectman: own physical metal, and know where it is. Now I cannot get my silver out. A personal view.
This is a personal article. It describes why I chose Kinesis, the people whose message convinced me, and what I would like to ask them now. It is my opinion. It does not suggest that anyone named here knew about the problems described on this site.
Why I joined Kinesis
For years I watched precious metals commentary on YouTube. One message came back again and again: paper promises can fail, so own physical metal, and know exactly where it is held. Kinesis seemed to offer that in a modern form. Its silver and gold tokens, KAG and KAU, are described as backed by allocated physical metal, and they can be redeemed for bars. You could hold metal and still move it like money.
I trusted that message, and I trusted the people who delivered it. That is why I moved a meaningful part of my savings to Kinesis, over several years, in a private account and later in a company account.
Andrew Maguire and Kinesis
Kinesis presents Live from the Vault as its own market analysis series on YouTube, with Andrew Maguire as its featured expert, who hosts the episodes with guests. The Kinesis website does not state his formal role in the company. Episode 257 of the series was titled “Stack physical or you’re on the menu.”
I agree with that message. It is the reason I am writing this site. Physical metal you cannot take delivery of is not the kind of physical ownership the show talks about.
Andy Schectman and Kinesis
Kinesis lists Andy Schectman, President of the precious metals firm Miles Franklin, as a special guest of Live from the Vault, with ten featured episodes. As far as public information shows, he is a guest of the series, not a member of Kinesis staff. I have followed his views on physical gold and silver for a long time, and they shaped my decision to hold metal.
Other voices on the Kinesis show
Live from the Vault has featured other well-known guests from the precious metals world, such as Craig Hemke, Bill Holter, Alasdair Macleod and Andy Schectman. Appearing as a guest on a company’s show is not the same as running the company. Nobody should read this article as holding guests responsible for how Kinesis processes withdrawals and redemptions.
What I would like to ask Andrew Maguire and Andy Schectman
I trust your message: own physical metal, and know where it is. I followed it, and today I cannot get my silver out of Kinesis, and a EUR withdrawal has been pending since early October. I would like to connect with you and hear how you see this.
Do you know how Kinesis redemptions and withdrawals are being handled at the moment?
Would you support Kinesis publishing clear processing dates for pending requests?
What would you advise a customer in my position to do?
If either of you would like to respond, your reply will be published here in full, unedited.
Why this matters for other Kinesis customers
Many Kinesis customers came to the platform the same way I did: through the show, its host and its guests. When those customers cannot redeem their metal, the people they trusted are often the first ones they turn to. A clear public word from them would help many people understand what is going on.

Andrew Maguire, Andy Schectman: a question for you
Many of us opened Kinesis accounts after watching Live from the Vault and your interviews about holding physical metal. Today, customers are waiting weeks and even months for withdrawals and gold and silver redemptions. Please ask Kinesis on the show: where is our metal, and when will it be released? If you know more, write to us.
